About us · About Bergue
Bergue is a Lisbon-based jewelry brand founded by mother-and-daughter duo Anne and Mathilde Bergue.
Led by women, our team designs and creates every piece in recycled silver and gold, creating jewelry to be worn every day and kept for a lifetime.
We draw inspiration from our surroundings, embracing experimentation, craftsmanship and the interplay of patterns and textures. We love what we do and are always looking to push the boundaries of creativity and design in our world of artistic jewelry.
Our stores and ateliers are open to everyone. We invite you to discover our jewelry, meet the people behind each piece, learn more about our process, or simply drop by with any questions.
2007
Our story began in the cosy kitchen of the Bergue family's apartment in Lisbon. A magical time, filled with experimentation and a touch of chaos, but above all, a success.
2008
Bergue opened its first public workshop and store in LX Factory. A place for clients to visit and buy our pieces directly, or get them adjusted on the spot.
2014
We expanded our workshop, building a mezzanine. Our team grew from 2 to 10 people, and we started to accept custom orders.
2021
To offer more services, like adjustments, fixes and jewelry workshops, we opened our second shop and atelier in Chiado.

Our ateliers are inside our shops. The people who make your jewelry are the people who sell it, fix it and answer your questions.
MADE TO LAST
We design pieces to wear every day, and to pass on. If they break, we repair them, and if you want something new, we transform them.
CIRCULARITY
We work with recycled Silver and Gold. They are forever materials, and the best metal is the one already mined.
CLOSE TO HOME
Every piece is made in Portugal, in our workshops or with family-run partners and European suppliers, down to the boxes and business cards.

We are a small, diverse team, and our know-how lives in our people. We come from different countries, studies and crafts. Some of us started as designers, some as goldsmiths, some behind the shop counter.
That mix also shapes our pieces and our brand: every collection is discussed, sketched and tested by many hands before it reaches you. We keep learning from each other, and from everyone who has been part of Bergue along the way.
